MINT Chinese Film Festival London creative exhibition in collaboration with Lighthouse Art
London, 02-04 June 2023
After the resounding success of the first edition of the MINT Chinese Film Festival in the charming town of Keswick, nestled in the breathtaking UK Lake District, we embarked on an exhilarating journey to expand our reach. Our exciting touring exhibition with selected short films graced the vibrant cities of Beijing and Paris, captivating diverse audiences across Europe and Asia.
And now, the 3rd touring exhibition of MINT CFF descends upon the beating heart of art in East London to ignite a vibrant fusion within a curated art space by unleashing a series of original and imaginative film programmes. This curatorial design forges a one-of-a-kind encounter for enthusiasts of both art and film to appreciate contemporary Chinese films made by new-generation filmmakers outside traditional cinematic configurations.
The curators from Lighthouse Arts and MINT CFF curated a series of evening events, including three film programmes and a film exhibition. Among the highlights is the highly anticipated World Premiere the short film "Both Make Sense", accompanied by a captivating behind-the-scenes exhibition that will transport audience into the heart of the filmmaking process.
Embracing the spirit of innovation, we challenge conventional curatorial norms and aim to revolutionise the way that moving images communicate with their spectators by experimenting with curatorial mediums, methods and thoughts. Through our audacious approach, we seek to break the walls of traditional cinemas and create an immersive artistic sphere that invites viewers to experience these films from an alternative perspective and to reflect on curated content critically.

"Both Make Sense" Behind The Scenes Exhibition
We are delighted to present a parallel Behind-The-Scenes Exhibition through the lens of women curators in the contemporary art and film field. This exhibition is based on film texts of BOTH MAKE SENSE (2023), the shots’ rapport of the script supervisor, and the review of the cinematographer, with the intention to break down and explore the boundaries of film art and open space for curatorial discourse.
